Our Doctors

Dr. Kate Sweetman

Dr. Kate Sweetman graduated in 2016 in from the Ontario Veterinary College. She shares her father’s interest in taking care of exotic animals and pocket pets as well as special interest in small animal dentistry. 

In her spare time she enjoys sailing and horseback riding.

Dr. Jim Sweetman

A 1981 graduate of Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. Dr. Sweetman loves being a Vet and along with seeing dogs and cats, enjoys the more exotic aspect of caring for reptiles, amphibians, fish and pocket pets.

In his spare time he loves to go fishing and travelling.

On her days off, Pam loves to horseback ride and play with her Boston Terrier 'Trooper'.

Shelley received the Veterinary Technician of the Year Award in 2011. Shelley has been working at DVH for over 25 years. She is also a teacher at St. Clair College for the Veterinary Technician program. She has two dogs, her dachshund Tallulah and corgi Moose.

Paula has been working at DVH for over 25 years.
She has a chihuahua named Dakota.

Becky recently joined our family in the Fall of 2017. She owns a Great Pyrenees named Luke, four cats Victor, Violet, Oliver, and Artemis and one rabbit Graham.

Deserae ``AKA`` Dez

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Deserae graduated the veterinary technician program in 2013 and has been working here for over three years. She has two pomeranians at home, Bella and Sadie. In her spare time she loves to foster orphan kittens and learn about exotic pets.


Animal Care Attendant

Danielle is currently attending college and works at DVH on weekends.


Animal Care Attendant

Nhi is a part time Animal Care Attendant and is responsible for our hospitalized patients and boarders. She also assists the veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
